Located in sunny Scottsdale, AZ, the Boulder House was constructed amid 1.6 billion year-old granite boulders and has been featured on the cover of Architectural Digest. It has been called “The Most Unique Home in America” and is protected by inclusion on the National Historic Register. But the final credit for the design of the home has to be given to nature, as the character of the house derives from the natural features of the boulders, some tilted, some crevassed and variously spaced, that make up some 60% of the interior walls. If you are moved by the mysteries of ancient sacred places, you will be enchanted the Boulder House. The sun’s interaction with ancient symbols carved on the boulders is a connection to the cosmology of the first people in the American Southwest. Daggers of sunlight interact with circle and spiral petroglyphs to mark equinox and winter and summer solstice. The Boulder House features original artifacts, Native American petroglyphs, and professionally guided tours.
Built as a private residence in the early 1980′s, and revered over the years for its natural elegance and beauty, the Boulder House is now used as a venue for private events. With capacity for up to 80 guests, The Boulder House is the sophisticated choice for cocktail receptions, plated dinners, weddings and sacred celebrations.
