A professional guide will facilitate your tour with Yavapai tribal members who were born and raised at Fort McDowell. They will explain the ancient culture, history, and heritage of their people then guide you along a one-mile nature trail showing how the Yavapai's lives are connected to the land of the Sonoran Desert. After the walk enjoy a Yavapai food tasting while learning more about the Yavapai through a video presentation and question/answer session.

Yavapai Offer One-of-a-Kind Cultural Heritage Tour through Fort McDowell Adventures Beginning November 30
FORT MCDOWELL, Ariz. (November 26, 2007) - Fort McDowell Adventures announces "The Yavapai Experience," an exclusive cultural heritage tour hosted by the Fort McDowell Yavapai, sharing their incredible story with visitors on their ancestral land.
"We are proud to announce a one-of-a-kind cultural heritage tour that will give visitors a first hand look to the experiences of the Fort McDowell Yavapai," said Rick Cibik, general manager of Fort McDowell Adventures. "The significance of The Yavapai Experience cannot be underestimated. This tour will allow the Yavapai to share their incredible story with the rest of the world, while preserving their sacred culture for generations to come."
Arriving to The Yavapai Experience, a professional tour guide will welcome visitors and facilitate the experience with Yavapai tribal members. Beginning the tour, guests will gather around a campfire to hear stories about the ancient culture, history and heritage first hand from the tribal members who were born and raised on the ancestral land of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
"The Yavapai Experience offers a unique opportunity for Yavapai members to share our experiences and way of life" said Gordon Roehrig, tribal member of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. "We are pleased to show guests around our ancestral land and educate them with the history, stories and even traditional Yavapai fare that hold great importance to our nation."
Continuing the tour, visitors can explore the heart of the Yavapai community on a guided one mile nature trail walk depicting how the Yavapai members' lives are connected with the Sonoran desert. To relax after the nature walk, guests are welcomed to enjoy an authentic Yavapai food tasting with dishes including cabbage stew and fry bread. The experience will conclude with a video presentation and question and answer session to help guests learn more about the Fort McDowell Yavapai.
